Educational Outreach

Alessia Guzzi has a background in environmental science and sustainable development, and is currently an MSc student at the University of Manitoba, focusing her studies on Arctic oceanography, the changes occurring in the Arctic and Subarctic and the impacts that northern communities feel as a result of a changing climate. Alessia became acquainted with the non-profit sector through The Winnipeg Foundation's Youth in Philanthropy and Summer Internship Programs, and has been motivated to stay involved with non-profit organizations to support the work that is being done to make the world a better place for all. She aspires to take part in educating the public and youth of the inequalities around the world, between developing and developed communities, and how we can take action to reduce these inequalities, even on a local level.
