ABOUT

K.I.D.S. Initiative is a registered charity that has already made some significant changes in other countries through the diligent efforts of a few dedicated members. K.I.D.S. supports programs in Kenya and our goal is to assist each of these programs in achieving a level of sustainability. Monies raised at all of our Events ensures that donations are directly distributed to Kenya and every donor dollar goes directly into supporting these programs.

SPONSORSHIP

Kenya Initiative for Development & Sustainability Inc. (K.I.D.S. Initiative) promotes development, enrichment, and sustainable solutions to our partners in Kenya through educational programs and local fundraising in Canada. Our vision is to see that our partners in developing countries have access to the necessities of life in order to suffer less and live more.

We’d like to take this opportunity to tell you about our 8th Annual Crossing Grains event in support of K.I.D.S. Initiative. Since our first annual event, our guest attendance has tripled as we’ve evolved from a cocktail reception to a sit-down gala dinner. This year we will be hosting our annual event on Thursday, February 28, 2019 and have planned to change things up and provide a fundraising event in a relaxed atmosphere with beer and tapas for all to enjoy! Most importantly, this event allows us to fund our programs in Kenya, but it also serves as a means to share with our community the work that is being done, as well as highlight the various ways in which our supporters can help and get involved.

In 2017, K.I.D.S. Initiative worked hard to successfully secure enough funding to cover the cost of an Agriculture and Food Security Project, which provided over 7,000 individuals in the Lemolo IDP Camp with all supplies, and training necessary to start their very own income-generating business harvesting crops. We are looking to secure enough funding to implement a sustainable borehole, which will provide accessible water to all families in this camp. This project, once implemented, will render the Lemolo IDP Camp Program fully sustainable and we will be able to retire this program and move on to others who need our assistance.
