KIDS INITIATIVE INC

APPLICATION FOR BOARD OF DIRECTORS

How to become a Board Member:

Governing our organization is one of the most critical roles someone can play at KIDS Initiative Inc. That is why we recruit people with a variety of skills for board positions. Board Members are expected to attend and actively participate in board meetings (8-10 per year), and occasional special meetings and planning sessions. In addition, Board Members monitor the strategic plan and annual budget, assist in fundraising events and help make decisions that guide the organization’s progress.

KIDS Initiative Inc. has two functioning sides to our board, working board members and advisory board members.

The working board members are individuals who take on executive roles and lead committee roles. Their purpose is to truly "roll up their sleeves" and operate on a full functioning level participating in the overall operations of the organization.
The advisory board members are typically academic individuals who have experience and skills that KIDS Initiative can benefit from but don't necessarily have the commitment capacity.
